Position Summary:
Ski.com, the largest provider of ski vacation packages in North America, is seeking a Director of Travel Agency Sales to manage and grow the company’s already robust relationships with travel agencies and advisors in the United States and beyond.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day account management of Ski.com's preferred travel relationships with Virtuoso, AMEX and Signature Travel Network.
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies with travel agencies to increase sales
- Represent Ski.com at various industry events, including Virtuoso Travel Week, AMEX Travel Forums and Signature Travel Networks annual conference.
- Create presentations and conduct product training sessions—both in person and virtually—for travel advisors and agencies
- Plan and implement travel agency sales missions with and without resort partners
- Involvement in management and maintenance of travel advisor and agency databases
- Involvement in negotiation of travel agency consortia agreements
- Work closely with lodging suppliers
- Regular communication with key travel agency partners to assess needs
- Schedule, plan and conduct travel advisor familiarization trips
- Track and analyze agency account production
- Develop and provide training for Ski.com Experts about travel agency agreements, promotions and other initiatives as needed
- Communicate updates, specials, and other marketing information to travel agencies
- Represent Ski.com professionally and favorably with travel advisors and suppliers
- Work with the marketing team to develop promotional offers and incentives for Virtuoso, AMEX, Signature Travel Network, Travel Leaders Group, and others
- Assist in the development of a content calendar for travel advisor email campaigns and other marketing initiatives
- Work with the marketing team to add content and training materials to Ski.com’s travel advisor website
- Become familiar with Ski.com’s reservation system and back-office processes to understand the business from the Ski.com Expert’s perspective
- Help resolve customer service issues involving travel advisors as needed.

Qualifications/Skills:
- Minimum 2-4 years of sales experience in the mountain travel/hospitality industry
- Established relationships with travel advisors and luxury mountain suppliers a plus
- Professional presentation
- Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to maintain attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to constructively problem solve with travel advisors, suppliers, and Ski.com Experts
- Strong ability to follow up and meet deadlines
- Ability to work with people on all levels
- Must be self-motivated and self-assured
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Goal oriented with ability to achieve established sales goals
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent, professional customer service skills
- Familiarity with travel agency consortia, including Virtuoso, Signature Travel Network. American Express, etc. a plus
- Familiarity with domestic and international ski resorts a plus
- Ability to travel as needed
