Would look for elsewhere to stay

The hotel was on the older side. A few nights, the hot tub was not working. They did not take care of the sidewalks to the slopes, so while you had all your ski equipment on, you were walking on ice downhill a few hundred feet. The room was ok. The room 2012 had a big crack in the door, allowing you to see the light and noise from the hallway. The fireplace had a time limit of 60 minutes, then it would turn off. And to get it to turn on, you had to press on, wait for ten seconds, press off, wait for 10 seconds, then press on again. They allowed animals in rooms, so you could constantly hear dogs barking in other rooms. The bathroom was old. Looks like it had about 10 patches of caulk surrounding the tub. The tub stopper was out and not working. We ate at the restaurant one morning. Would not do it again. The frier was not working. The food was bland. I would look elsewhere to rent.

Ski in Ski out with family and kids

Location ! Location ! Location ! A great location for my wife who loves green runs, and great for young kids to ski in and ski out ! Oscar in Valet was amazing. This lodge is a must and we will be back !!!! The shuttle was amazing, I rented a SUV in Montrose airport which turned out to be a waste of $. No need. Just tack the shuttle to the Lodge.

Great location and friendly staff but poor temperature control in the condo

We enjoyed our stay at Mountain Lodge. The staff was consistently helpful and friendly. I had some trepidation staying on the mountain, and not in town, but we found the location to be amazing for skiing and not too inconvenient for heading into town for dinner. While we were very pleased with the size and amenities of the condo, our primary critique is that the heat in the master bedroom didn't always work properly. Further the baseboard in the master bedroom was visibly broken, although some heat came our of it. We were so intent on skiing, that we didn't bother to tell the front desk as we didn't want to spend the time, but we had to stay away from the jagged edge that jutted out as we could have cut our ancles. The first 2 days I was very cold in the Master bedroom and slept in a sweatshirt. As the week wore on, it seemed that the placed warmed up and became almost too warm. This applies to the master bedroom and the common area with the kitchen. Whatever we set the heat at didn't seem to influence the temperature. Since we were intent on skiing, and we could turn on the gas fireplace or open the balcony door, we managed. Still, for the price point of the condo, the climate control should have been better.Everything else about Mountain Lodge was first rate. The View was convenient for a first night meal. We enjoyed the hot tub and the bar. My son appreciated being able to rent snowboard boots right at the lodge!

Great experience, but a few issues kept it from being outstanding.

The response to our concerns were fast and respectful, with all problems solved very quickly. Nothing big which would deter us from staying there again. This was our 5th or 6th time at the Mountain Lodge. The ski lockers at slope side are very convenient since we stay at the bottom of the hill adjacent to the slope. Easy ski in and out. The Mountain Lodge shuttle service makes it easy to get around, plus the walk to the gondola and market is not long and was a frequent option in nice weather.

DIG IT!

Great location! Great people! Great condo! I literally cannot think of much if anything I would improve.

Beautiful Lodge

Had a 1 bedroom suite very close to the double cabin run!

Poor Management

Our room was not ready at check in time (4PM)and we had been "guaranteed" that it would be. We had travelled all day to get there and were exhausted. The next two days our room was not cleaned. The excuses were unbelievable. When I called the first day to ask why our room was not cleaned, I was told, "we had 80 people check in today", as though that was our problem. A hotel is supposed to be able to look after its guests as promised, including cleaning the room. The second day when I called I was told the housekeeping staff had gone home for the day. Other excuses followed. Very disappointing. Atmosphere in the main lodge area is very nice. What a shame about the rest of it.

Staff and room a bit run down

While location is very good for access to the slopes we found some of the staff to be very average in terms of their service-orientation. Certainly not at a Four Seasons level (although you're not paying those prices here). The room was in need of an upgrade, too.

Nice Place

Very nice lodge, nice rooms and good restaurant/bar. Location is a little difficult, a walk on icy path to nearest ski trail. Marked and gondola are close by.

Condo was beautiful but freezing

The one bedroom condo was beautiful with a fireplace visible in the living room and bedroom. However, the entire bedroom, sink area and bathroom were supposed to be heated by 5 ft of baseboard heating - and this entire area was exposed to exterior walls. They gave us an electric heater but still made the entire condo very dry (despite the humidifier). My wife was sick while we were there and got sicker in that room. Would not recommend.
